On Saturday September 27, the Strand Brewers Club, Long Beach Home Brewers and Pacific Gravity Homebrew Club hosted the annual Pacific Brewers Cup at the Four Points Sheraton in Los Angeles.
The homebrew competition received over 400 entries of beers, ciders and mead. The Beer Best of Show were Brett Gent who won first place with his Irish Stout. Sam Babikian & Brian Bennett of BrewCommune won second with their Munich Helles and Benjamin Birdsall who medaled third with a Berliner Weisse Kettle Soured Berliner - my favorite of the three.
